Richard served in the 10th Foot ( North Lincolnshire Regiment ) and me Jane while he was posted in Northern Ireland.
He was probably a Private. We do not know the dates when he joined up or left. He may well have served overseas at some point. As a result of him meeting up with Jane we are all part Irish!

His second wife Ann is also buried in the same grave. His first wife Jane is buried in the same churchyard in an unmarked grave. It is possible that she may lie in the one next to him, which is unmarked, but we have no proof.
